Coors Lite & Miller Lite Mini Shootout Powerboat racing comes in all shapes and sizes at the Shootout. The “5th Annual Mini Shootout” will hit the water Friday-Sunday, Aug. 15-17 at Papa Chubby’s Food & Booze located in Crabtree Cove at the 26 Mile Marker in Sunrise Beach. The Mini Shootout pits racers against each other in remote-control action reaching speeds of over 100 mph in six different classes, with Splash Runs, Bracket Racing, Exhibition Races and Powder Puff Racing. Check out the schedule online for Class Runs, the Bounty Race and Top Gun racing times. Registration and the meet-and-greet begin at 5 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 15. An auction and the Mini Shootout will be held Saturday and Sunday. To add to the excitement, there will be open swimming, live entertainment and an awards ceremony immediately following racing, all at Papa Chubby’s Food & Booze located by land at 820 Serene Valley Drive in Sunrise Beach. Old Kinderhook Presents: The 2014 Benefit Golf Tournament The 2014 Shootout Benefit Golf Tournament at Old Kinderhook Golf Club starts at noon on Sunday, Aug. 17. Golfers will tee off at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start, to support local firefighters and non-profit organizations. The Tom Weiskopf Signature Course is a Par 71 at 6,855 yards, nestled among beautiful valleys at the Lake of the Ozarks. The course challenges the most serious golfer, yet plays on the friendly side. Old Kinderhook is renowned for unsurpassed drama from valleys, waterfalls, hills, trees and water hazards, in a beautiful Lake setting. The elevation changes and breathtaking views thrill at every hole. The exceptional tournament runs $125 per person or $500 per team, which includes a box lunch, golf cart and a plethora of prizes. The LakeExpo.com Great Shootout Treasure Hunt The LakeExpo.com Great Shootout Treasure Hunt is scheduled from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in Buccaneer Bay at Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill located in Sunrise Beach, and the 34.5 Mile Marker. Proceeds benefit Kids' Harbor. The excitement begins with dinner and drinks at 5 p.m. with the treasure hunt starting around 6 p.m. Treasure hunters will dig through the sand for hidden chests filled with hundreds of prizes. Last year a lucky pirate won a Yamaha ATV. The presentation of the treasure hunt awards and prizes will begin immediately after the hunt at around 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Captain Ron’s, Cannon Smoked Saloon, and Kids' Harbor for $25. Tickets will also be available at the event Monday.

This is the Lake of the Ozarks’ first ever “dual starting point” Poker Run for boats and pontoons 32 feet and under. The Bravo Shop Presents: Shootout in the Park The Shootout in the Park begins at noon and will run until at least 10 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Laurie Fairgrounds. Shootout race teams will line up with their boats, mingle with fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures. The beer garden will be open, a variety of vendors will provide food, there will be a bounce house for the kids and local entertainers will provide live music in the beer garden. Above all, this is a great opportunity to meet the racers competing in the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. “These guys are great and they love to talk to people who love the sport. They especially like answering the kids’ questions—probably because most of them are family men themselves,” said Ron Duggan, Shootout Organizer and Owner of the Shootout home base, Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill. “You can watch the race online and you can see pictures of the drivers, but when you can meet them, shake their hands, get your picture taken with them - it lets you make a connection that makes it a lot more fun when you’re watching.”
Surdyke Yamaha Shootout PWC Dam Run Dozens of personal watercraft riders will meet at 9 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at Surdyke Yamaha and Marine, located at the 26 Mile Marker, for the Surdyke Yamaha Shootout PWC Dam Run. This all-day run starts at 10 a.m. at Surdyke Yamaha Marine and riding to Truman Dam, with nautical pit stops at Captain Ron’s and other locations along the way. This year, the crew will run to the dam and back to Shorty Pants Lounge on the 21 Mile Marker to unwind for a post-ride party from 5 – 6 p.m. The PWC Dam run is a fun way to experience the pristine shoreline of the upper Mile Markers of the Lake of the Ozarks without fretting about water depths. Registration is $150 and includes a paid registration in the PWC portion of the Shootout races on Saturday, Aug. 23. Proceeds benefit Shootout charities. First National Bank Make-a-Wish Powerboat Rides Nothing warms the heart like a child’s smile. And when it comes from a child with a life-threatening illness, the respite is near divine. It’s for huge smiles that boat racers give rides to children through the First National Bank Make-a-Wish Powerboat Rides, from noon – 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21 on Dock No. 3 at Captain Ron’s. This event gives hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. “Big-hearted race boat drivers and volunteers donate their boats and time to give kids with serious illnesses and their families the ride of a lifetime,” event organizer Tiffany Riemann said. Shootout Hall of Fame Dinner The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Hall of Fame Dinner is scheduled at 5:30 – 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Stables at Cannon Smoked Saloon in Sunrise Beach. Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Powerboat Races Top Guns and past dignitaries will be in attendance to honor the new inductees into the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Hall of Fame. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate 26 years of Shootout and to honor the inductees. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is $25 per person, by reservation only.
Waves and Wheels Stereo Shootout Some have a need for speed, others want to look and sound good doing it. Waves and Wheels Marine Audio Stereo Shootout is made for boaters who like to thump and reverberate. Once a year, during Shootout week, the Lake finds out “who’s got the power.” This year, the kings of sound will unleash an audio explosion starting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, in conjunction with the Supercat Fest at Camden on the Lake at the 7 Mile Marker of Lake of the Ozarks. The Stereo Shootout awards first, second and third place for the classes of Powerboats 29’ and shorter, 30’ and longer, cruiser class, and ski boats. In the end, one Grand Champion will be measured as the Loudest at the Lake and an award will be bestowed for the Most Creative Audio/Video System. The competition is based on Overall Sound, Full Sound, Great Highs, Mids and Lows, and Most Impressive Output. Stereo Shootout judges use meters to read the decibels. The prize for the Most Creative is judged on appearance, installation quality and the overall package. First, second and third place winners receive a plaque along with prizes. “There is a great crowd that comes out to see amazing boats and hear great music while hanging out on the dock with friends,” Waves and Wheels Owner/System and Product Designer Justin Wagner said. Some of the boats, designed by the likes of MTI and Nor-Tech, are worth more than $1 million. The price of the sound systems can range from $2,500 to $200,000. Poly Lift Poker Run It’s the “race before the race” and this one is just for fun. The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Poly Lift Poker Run is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 starting at Backwater Jacks Waterfront Bar and Grill located at 4341 Beach Drive, and the 17.5 Mile Marker in Osage Beach. The Midwest’s hottest boats will fill the slips at Backwater Jacks early on Friday for breakfast before the Shootout Poly Lift Poker Run. The run will begin at 10 a.m. Hundreds of Poker players will draw cards at various lake front restaurants including, Big Dick’s Halfway Inn, Paradise Restaurant and Bar, The Fish and Company, Shady Gators, and a big finish at Captain Ron’s. There, players turn in their hands for cold-hard cash and prizes. Last year’s prizes totaled more than $4,000. The entry fee of $150 buys one poker hand, two t-shirts, two breakfast coupons at Backwater Jacks, two $10 dinner or drink coupons, one Captain’s bag and a DVD. Boaters may purchase additional hands for $45 and more cards for $20 each. Additional passengers in a boat may purchase one hand, a shirt and a $10 coupon for dinner or a drink for $75. The best five-card hand wins. First, second, third and worst hand will receive payouts. The rest of the proceeds go to local firefighters and charities. Shootout Benefit Auction The Shootout Benefit Auction is scheduled from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22 at Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill, following the Poker Run. The Shootout Auction is the perfect opportunity for locals and visitors to buy Shootout memorabilia and great products and services from Lake Area businesses for a fraction of the regular price. The 2014 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Powerboat Races The opening ceremonies of the 2014 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Powerboat Races are at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. The races will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23. On Sunday, Aug. 24 the National Anthem kicks off the powerboat races at 10 a.m. and extreme racers will compete until 3 p.m., followed by the 2014 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Awards Ceremony at 4 p.m. at Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill.
