5 Reasons To Invest In Property At The Lake Of The Ozarks

Do you like to visit the Lake of the Ozarks? Have you ever thought to own your own lake home? There are many reasons why the Lake of the Ozarks is a great place to own a second home. Keys to the Lake offers five reasons why you should consider investing in real estate at the Lake of the Ozarks

1. Centrally Located

The Lake of the Ozarks is a great place to own a second home or condo, as it is right in the middle of not only Missouri, but the United States. It's a rather small town, but if you want to go to a larger city, you don't need to go far. It is just three hours away from Kansas City and St. Louis and only a couple hours away from Springfield and Columbia.

2. Fun Events Year Round

The Lake of the Ozarks is a very popular summer destination because of the fun, Lake centered events like Aquapolooza and Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. However, the fun doesn't end when summer does, as there are many "off-season" events such as Lake Stock Fall Crawl and the Mardi Gras Pub Crawl. No matter the season, there are lots of things to do at the Lake of the Ozarks.

3. Affordable

Price is definitely a factor when it comes to choosing a second home location. You're already paying for one mortgage so it can be sometimes difficult to add on a second one. The Lake of the Ozarks offers great prices on Lakefront property, especially compared to other similar locations like Lake Tahoe or any coastal area.

4. Best Recreational Lake In The Country

The Lake of the Ozarks has been named the best recreational lake in the United States by USA Today. With over 1,150 miles, the Lake of the Ozarks has more shoreline than the state of California. From fishing and boating to dining and shopping, the Lake area has a lot to offer visitors. No matter if your wanting to relax or party it up in "Party Cover," the Lake has something for everyone.

5. A Place To Call Your Own

While vacationing can be fun, the costs can start to add up quickly. From hotel costs to dining out, vacationing can be costly. In addition to being costly, hotels aren't the most comfortable. If you own your own home or condo at the Lake of the Ozarks, you could have your own place to enjoy a relaxing Lake vacation. The family could have enough space to spread out and you could save some money by cooking your own meals and not dining out for every single meal. In addition, you won't have to worry about availability during the weekends. If you own your own place, you could come to the Lake whenever you want. You could also leave stuff you use on a regular basis, cutting down on what you need to pack for a fun-filled weekend at the Lake.

5 Fun Winter Activities At The Lake Of The Ozarks

Although the Lake of the Ozarks is a popular place to visit during the summer, it also makes for a great place to visit during the winter season. There are many fun activities for you and your family to enjoy during the winter, such as fishing, exploring caves and more! If you are wanting to visit the Lake of the Ozarks this season, but aren't sure what to do, here are five fun activities you can enjoy:

1. Winter Fishing

Although many think that the water is too frigid to catch any fish, the fact is, it's actually one of the best time to catch some fish at the Lake of the Ozarks. During the winter months, anglers can catch a number of different fish. In fact, you can catch some of the biggest fish in the lake during this season.

2. Exploring The Caves

No matter the season, it is always a good time to visit the beautiful caves of the Lake of the Ozarks. The area is home to several caves that visitors can explore. The best thing about caves is that no matter the season, they are around 50-60 degrees year-round, so winter is a great time to get outside and enjoy nature.

3. Shopping

Whether you are browsing or buying, the Lake of the Ozarks is a shoppers paradise. From small boutique stores to the 110-store outlet mall, there are many different places for you to choose from, and there is something for everyone! With over 50 stores within a 50-mile radius, it's no wonder why many people come to the Lake area specifically to shop. You'll be sure to find what you need - or what you didn't know you need - at the Lake of the Ozarks.

4. Wine Tasting

The Lake area has seen a resurgence in craft wineries over the last decade. With the beautiful scenery paired with fine wine and gourmet food, it makes for a memorable experience no matter the season. The Lake of the Ozarks is home to several wineries, so wine tasting is the perfect way to spend an afternoon or an entire weekend. In the mid-1880s, more wine was produced by volume in Missouri than any other state. However, due to prohibition and the growth of the California wine industry, Missouri wineries today tend to be small and more focused on crafting their wine in the old world traditions. If you are interested in visiting the Lake of the Ozarks wine trail, visit www.LakeOfTheOzarksWineTrail.com.

5. Hiking

Although winter at the Lake of the Ozarks experiences some weather including cold winds and sometimes snow, if you are a person who loves the outdoors, and enjoying nature no matter the season, hiking is a great way to spend the winter season at the Lake of the Ozarks. Ha Ha Tonka State Park is beautiful during the winter, so get out there are going exploring.

Four Winter Travel Tips

Christmas is at the end of the week and many people will be traveling far and wide to visit their friends and family. Whether you're visiting the Lake of the Ozarks or traveling out of the state, Keys to the Lake wants to make sure you arrive at your destination safely. There will be many travelers this Christmas, so here are a few driving tips to help make your journey a little smoother brought to you by Lake of the Ozarks' best vacation rental company.

1. Check Your Car

Before taking off to your destination, make sure your car is in peak operating condition. The winter weather is rough on our cars, and nothing spoils the holidays like car issues while on the road. Check to make sure your car has the proper amount of engine oil, the correct tire pressure and that the lights are working properly. You can also make things a little easier and have your car serviced at a professional auto shop to make sure it's in tip-top shape.

2. Pack An Emergency Kit

While driving in winter conditions, it is always a good idea to have an emergency kit in your vehicle. Some items to keep in your kit include blankets, non-perishable foods, water and any medication you need. In addition to having a kit, make sure it is easily accessible.

3. Check The Weather

Before taking off, check to see what the weather conditions are not only at your destination but throughout the route that you will take to get there. If the weather is too bad to be driving in, you may need to put your plans on hold. Although you may be able to drive well in snow, not everyone else can. If you absolutely need to leave, make sure others are aware of your trip and know what time you should be arriving and what route you are taking.

4. If There's Snow

When driving during the winter months, it's important to know what you should do if it begins to snow. When there's snow, accelerate and decelerate slowly. Too much pressure on the gas or break or abrupt movements could cause the vehicle to spin out. Drive slowly, as everything takes longer on ice and snow, including stopping, accelerating and turning. Don't stop if you can avoid it. If approaching a red light, roll slowly up to it until it turns green, as it is much harder to get going from a complete stop versus a roll.

Safe Travels From Keys To The Lake!

If you are traveling this holiday season, please be safe. There will be lots of people traveling and although the Lake of the Ozarks doesn't have snow in the forecast, other places are expected to be getting snow. Keys to the Lake hopes that you stay safe while traveling this holiday season. If you are visiting the Lake of the Ozarks, visit our website at www.KeysToTheLake.com for our availability. No matter how big or small your group is, we have vacation rentals for everyone! We hope to see you soon and Merry Christmas from the best vacation rental company at the Lake of the Ozarks!
