Fun At The Lake This August

Although August is the end of the summer, there are still fun events happening all over the Lake area. In fact, August has some of the most popular events of the entire summer season! If you're planning on coming down to the area, here are some of the fun events you can attend.


The Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop 

This is a fun-filled event that's perfect for the whole family! Enjoying playing in the family fun zone with all types of kids games, inflatables, dunk tank and more! Watch thousands of rubber duckies race on the Osage River to see who wins $5,000 cash.

Hot Summer Nights "Muscle Cars & Custom Cars"

Hot Summer Nights is an award-winning event, having won the Missouri Tourism Innovators Award and title of the Best Event at the Lake for 2015 and 2016! Join hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators watch all cars, trucks and motorcycles regardless of make, model or year cruise The Strip. The whole family will enjoy the nostalgic memory making atmosphere, entertainment and great shopping and dining all along The Bagnell Dam Strip.

Midwest Wine & Brew Festival

This popular summer festival features wineries and breweries from across the state. Enjoy samples from the wineries and breweries, along with vendors and restaurants from the Lake area. There will also be live entertainment throughout the event.

Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout will bring top powerboat racers and off shore racing power boats from across the country, topping 200 MPH. It's the largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest with over 100 racers and 100,000 spectators. There will be Shootout events happening all week leading up to the big races.

While you may think you can rent your home yourself by marketing your property off of vacation rental websites, there's so much more that goes into renting your home to vacationers.
