1. Winter Fishing

Although many think that the water is too frigid to catch any fish, the fact is, it's actually one of the best time to catch some fish at the Lake of the Ozarks. During the winter months, anglers can catch a number of different fish. In fact, you can catch some of the biggest fish in the lake during this season.

2. Exploring The Caves

No matter the season, it is always a good time to visit the beautiful caves of the Lake of the Ozarks. The area is home to several caves that visitors can explore. The best thing about caves is that no matter the season, they are around 50-60 degrees year-round, so winter is a great time to get outside and enjoy nature.

3. Shopping

Whether you are browsing or buying, the Lake of the Ozarks is a shoppers paradise. From small boutique stores to the 110-store outlet mall, there are many different places for you to choose from, and there is something for everyone! With over 50 stores within a 50-mile radius, it's no wonder why many people come to the Lake area specifically to shop. You'll be sure to find what you need - or what you didn't know you need - at the Lake of the Ozarks.

4. Wine Tasting

The Lake area has seen a resurgence in craft wineries over the last decade. With the beautiful scenery paired with fine wine and gourmet food, it makes for a memorable experience no matter the season. The Lake of the Ozarks is home to several wineries, so wine tasting is the perfect way to spend an afternoon or an entire weekend. In the mid-1880s, more wine was produced by volume in Missouri than any other state. However, due to prohibition and the growth of the California wine industry, Missouri wineries today tend to be small and more focused on crafting their wine in the old world traditions.
