We are a full-service company that provides you not only with great property management at the Lake of the Ozarks, but also excellent vacation rentals at the Lake of the Ozarks. You want to hire a company you can trust, not only with your condo, but also with all of the details that go into property management, and we have worked hard to maintain that trust with all of our clients. Here are a few things you need to know before making your condo a vacation rental.
Keep Your Rental UpdatedWhile you don't have to go out and purchase really expensive furniture for your new vacation rental, you do want to make sure that space feels trendy and up-to-date. You don't want your guests feeling as if they've walked into a time warp. Think practically about furniture before purchasing them. You want items that are easy to clean and won't show wear and tear too easily. While we don't want to bring in guests that will trash your place, sometimes accidents to happen, so it's best to choose pieces that can hide those stains.
Create a Home Away From Home SpaceMake your rental unit a space where your guests will feel right at home - this is what keeps them wanting to come back over and over. You can hang artwork and photography on the walls, even pieces that you've photographed yourself from the surrounding Lake area! Add extra pillows and throws on the couch and have vases on hand for flowers. Collections are a unique way to decorate your space. You can collect rocks, dried flowers and more from the local area and help tie in that fun lake feel. Don't forget tour guides, books, board games, and cards, too! While your guests are coming to hang out at the Lake because they want to spend time in the water, sometimes plans get rained out and they'll need something else to do.
Provide Modern AmenitiesOne of the first things your guests will do when they walk into the condo is check to see if there is wifi. There's nothing worse than believing there will be internet in a condo and showing up to find that there is not. Do your guests a favor and provide them with those modern amenities that they appreciate like internet and cable. You will also want to make sure that there is a color TV with remote and a DVD player in your condo. These are on our requirement list in order to list your condo with us, so be sure you have this taken care of ahead of time.
A Well Stocked KitchenMany of your renters are probably going to be eating out and enjoying the Lake life, but there will be some who decide to cook in, so be sure that your kitchen is stocked and ready to go.
